This week at work has seriously been so busy, even for a short week for me. I think it's hard after a vacation to get back into that groove of remembering what I have to do all day. I had also forgotten some of the annoying parts of my job, which was nice but then got reminded of it in the afternoon I was back.
Today I'm wearing a turtleneck sweater that I got at the GAP at their day after Christmas sale. I bought it that day but today is the first time I wore it. I didn't want to drag it on my trip back east because it's kind of large and would be bigger to pack. And wearing it today, I realize the neck part is way too large and even folded four times, it's still too big. I feel like I'm wearing an Elizabethan collar. And I got one compliment on the sweater today, from the woman who dresses like a middle-aged lesbian. Don't get me wrong, she is extremely nice and her look works for her (mullet and sweaters), but I'm not sure she's the best-dressed at the office.
I remember my dad telling me that I had the wrong neck for turtlenecks, or something. I still don't really know what that means, but I like having something warm around my neck when it is cold out, as it has been here.
I'm still kind of decompressing from my trip, probably not quite yet up to writing about everything. I had a one on one therapy with my therapist and we talked about it a lot, and how she thinks that my responses to stuff that happened was cognitively appropriate, or something I'm too tired to remember exactly at the moment. That's the thing about being on vacation, your brain is on in a different way than it is when you work. At least at my job. I can't really phone it in, have to be somewhat focused on what I'm saying to people at work. More's the pity.

Way Behind
Obviously I am way behind on posting. I went to see my mom back east, then we went to NYC for her to perform at a concert at Lincoln Center there. Then I came home and DMA came up for the SF Star Trek convention this past weekend. Now I'm back at work. I obviously have a bit to talk about but am just kind of exhausted after being back at work today so I'll have to say more later.

Um, Happy New Year
Damn, has it really been a week since I wrote anything. I've been meaning to write something all week, but a combination of hormones and having to be back at work this week has made me super tired. Also super busy at work. Excuses, excuses.
New Year's Eve with C was awesome. We ended up staying up quite a bit after midnight and started watching Taken but I passed out about halfway through it. The next day, we woke up nice and late, had breakfast burritos at a new place near him (well, new as in I hadn't been there before), and ending up going to a New Year's Day kind of party with some family friends of his. It's funny to be in the circle there, being his "plus one" in a way. Well, I should say not funny but really nice.
Then, January 2, I woke up and Teddy had half a foot of string hanging out of his ass. Seriously. My brilliant cat ate some holiday ribbon and made his colon more festive. I didn't get a picture because at the time I was really concerned about him. Rushed him off to the vet, and the vet pulled it out. I don't think Teddy enjoyed that very much. I could hear his little screams from the waiting area. But he felt better having the string out and has been doing fine since then. When we got home, he wanted to eat and poop right away. See, he has his priorities straight.
Um, I know I have other stuff I wanted to say but am losing steam. So glad it's Friday, ready to go home and relax.
